Cooking with B-well Canola Oil

B-well Canola Oil

Depends on cooking method, but generally not higher than 230°C.

As canola oil has a very neutral, clean taste and non-fatty texture, it is ideal for the preparation of most food products:

  • Baking of cakes, muffins, biscuits
  • Sauteing & stir frying of vegetables
  • Searing, grilling and frying of meats
  • Deep frying of vegetables and meats
  • Making mayonnaise, dressings and bastings

170–180°C for general deep frying (some foods might require a different temperature)

Do not fry at temperatures >180°C.  If making use of a thermostat/fryer with thermostat, make sure that the thermostat is working correctly.

Fry at the correct temperature.

  • If temperature is too low, more oil will be absorbed by the food.
  • If the temperature is too hot, the food will darken too quickly while not yet cooked inside.

Fry from frozen where applicable, do not thaw.

Do not overcrowd the fryer.

Soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside and light to golden colour throughout.

Cooking with B-well EVOO

B-well EVOO

Keep to low to medium-heat cooking (<160 °C. Heating beyond this point contributes to the degradation of the oil’s antioxidants and other beneficial components.

Robust and earthy foods that can carry the flavour of EVOO:

  • Meat such as red meat and game
  • Root vegetables
  • Legumes
  • Pasta with any of the above

As part of a dressing over salads

Similar to B-well canola oil. As B-well Canola & Olive oil only has a subtle olive oil aroma it can be used with both robust, earthy food elements such as meat, root vegetables and legumes and more delicate, subtle food elements such as fish, young vegetables and tender greens.
